Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher Announces 2021 Congressional Art Competition

Today, Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher (TX-07) announced the launch of the annual Congressional Art Competition for Texas' Seventh Congressional District.

"I am excited to launch this year's Congressional Art Competition for students across our district," said Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher. "Each year, talented young artists have produced beautiful art that reflects the diverse experiences and beauty across our district, and I am looking forward to seeing their submissions this year."

Every year, the
Congressional Institute
sponsors the
Congressional Art Competition
to highlight high school artists from across the country. The Congressional Art Competition is open to all high school students in Texas' Seventh Congressional District. The winning artwork for Texas' Seventh Congressional District will be displayed for one year in the United States Capitol with artwork from other contest winners nationwide. The remaining top ten submissions for Texas' Seventh Congressional District will be displayed in Congresswoman Fletcher's District Office for one year. Since the competition's inception in 1982, more than 650,000 students across the country have submitted art for display.

Submission Instructions:

Submissions for this year's competition will be accepted through April 23, 2021at 11:59pm CT.
Artwork must be two-dimensional. Each framed piece of artwork can be no larger than 26 inches high, 26 inches wide, and 4 inches deep. No framed piece should weigh more than 15 pounds.
Each entry must be original in concept, design, and execution and may not violate U.S. copyright laws.
